Plus, Big Mike Griffin at 1:00PM
Georgia-based Confederate Railroad was the contemporary cousin to such outlaw southern rockers as the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Hank Williams, Jr. The group, with their scruffy biker clothes and hard-edged good-time music,
produced several hits including "Jesus and Mama" (Top 5) and "Queen Memphis" (Top 3), but it was "Trashy Women,' the B-side of their "When You Leave That Way You Can Never Go Back," that really gained notoriety. Both the song and the resulting video for "Trashy Women" got considerable media exposure, and made it to the Top 10 on the country charts. Their 1994 release, Notorious, went gold in less than two months.
